Herdade das Servas showcases wines to 70 AEP sommeliers

On November 11, the Alentejo wines of producer Herdade das Servas, based in Estremoz, Portugal, were on display at the Associação de Escanções de Portugal (AEP) in Lisbon for an afternoon of premium wine tasting.

Over 70 sommeliers – professional wine stewards – were invited to sample a selection of Herdade das Servas wines, featuring Herdade das Servas Tinto Amália 2006, Herdade das Servas Tinto Vinhas Velhas 2005, Herdade das Servas Tinto Reserva 2006, Herdade das Servas Tinto Touriga Nacional 2006 and Monte das Servas Tinto Colheita Seleccionada 2007.

Herdade das Servas also took the opportunity to present their all-new wine, Amália, honouring the life of legendary fado singer Amália Rodrigues.

The refresher event was organised by Herdade das Servas as a showcase of the quality and diversity of Alentejo wines and their ability to be paired with the very best of world cuisine.

The tasting session marked AEP’s annual celebration of St Martin’s Day, with guests and attendees saluting the association’s key role in improving wine service in hotels and restaurants via training courses and awareness-raising activities.
