Herdade das Servas between 90 and 93 points by Wine Enthusiast
There were three wines from Herdade das Servas that deserved special attention by U.S Magazine Wine Enthusiast at the end of 2011, when they received notes above 90 points. We are speaking about red wines, all from the harvest 2008, ‘Herdade das Servas Reserva’, ‘Herdade das Servas Syrah | Touriga Nacional’ and ‘Herdade das Servas’.

Ninety-three (93) points were awarded to ‘Herdade das Servas Reserva Red 2008’, considered by Wine Enthusiast as a dark wine, concentrated and full bodied, which the wooden stage has highlighted the tannins and fruit (ripe black fruit with hints of exotic spices). The attribution of a stamp “Cellar Selection” did also notice in this wine.

‘Herdade das Servas Syrah | Touriga Nacional Red 2008’, launched for the second time in the history of this producer, obtained a classification of 92 points. The critique is very positive as to harmony and complimentarily that comes from the union of the two grape varieties that give the body to this wine. The result is a dry wine with notes of exotic fruits and violet and plum flavour.

‘Herdade das Servas Red 2008’, the publication give a note of 90 points, highlighted the presence of plum and blackberry, and perfectly integrated with wood and spices. A wine whose “high” alcohol % gives richness and balance.

This is not the first time that Wine Enthusiast tastes and approves the wines from Herdade das Servas. The wine ‘Monte das Servas Escolha Red 2008’, also shined with 89 points and distinction of “Best Buy”.
