‘Herdade das Servas Vinhas Velhas’ between the best in the World

The International Wine Challenge (IWX) Library Collection 2010 distinguished “Herdade das Servas Tinto Vinhas Velhas 2005” to give it 88 points and giving it direct access to “The Library Collection 2000 & 2005 vintages” a wine list with restricted 5 and 10 years rated with a score above 85. One of Alentejo wines of the producer Serrano Mira S.A | Herdade das Servas (Estremoz) which adds and follows with another distinction.

This is the second consecutive year that a wine from Herdade das Servas, both top wines (Herdade das Servas) get this done. Last year was privileged “Herdade das Servas Tinto Reserva 2004” with 90 points.
Between gold and silver medals, Herdade das Servas have already several distinctions – in Portugal and foreign – attesting to the quality of “Herdade das Servas Tinto Vinhas Velhas 2005” a wine that has resulted from a blend of three grapes varieties: 40% Touriga Nacional, 30% Alicante Bouschet and 30% Syrah. In 2009, won a silver medal at the International Wine Challenge.
“One of the characteristics we print to the tops range of Herdade das Servas category which included the “Vinhas Velhas”, is precisely the fact that are wines with a high potential of aging. This award confirms the fulfilment of our objective, which makes us very pleased! Even more because we are talking about a very prestigious competition, also by their juries, and wines are reviewed in a blind tasting.
