Herdade das Servas wins Gold Medal

 

“Herdade das Servas Red 2008” is the latest projection from the quality wine producer Serrano Mira – Wine Society S.A in Estremoz, Alentejo. It opens a new benchmark of the brand Herdade das Servas. This wine has a dark ruby color, ripe red fruit aroma and well integrated with wood. Smooth and concentrated in mouth with pleasant long finish. Ideal accompaniment with typical dishes from Alentejo.
 
“Herdade das Servas Red 2008” has just won a gold medal at the International Wine Guide 2011 in Spain. Of all the gold medals in this competition, the “Herdade das Servas Red 2008” is the wine that has the third lowest price (8.75 €), which reinforces that it has excellent value for money, and it is so much appreciated in today´s world.
 
The brothers Carlos Mira (vineyards responsible) and Luís Mira (winemaker with Tiago Garcia) believe that “Herdade das Servas Red 2008” is a wine that will determine the daily lives of the most demanding consumers.
 
This nectar is the result of a first selection of matured wines in Herdade das Servas wine cellar. Are carefully removed from the French and American oak barrels – sooner than the Reserve wine ranges (longest aging). The aging is done grape by grape during 8 months and achieved the best combination it is bottled, after that still remaining during 6 months in bottle. It is a wine with a positive development for 8 to 10 years, kept in a cool/dark place and with the bottle lying down.
 
Aragonez (40%), Touriga Nacional (30%), Alicante Bouschet (15%) and Syrah (15%) are the varieties that give structure and body to “Herdade das Servas Red 2008”, giving it a dark color and complexity aroma.
