The Serrano Mira family proudly owns and runs an estate deep in the heart of rural Portugal, stretching across 200 hectares of vineyards, divided into three vineyards: Azinhal , Judia and Servas. The vineyards are between 20 and 60 years old, except Servas vineyard witch were planted in January 2007.
Herdade das Servas vineyards are carefully planted with Alfrocheiro, Alicante Bouschet, Aragonez, Cabernet Sauvignon, Castelão, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Sangiovese, Syrah, Touriga Franca, Touriga Nacional, Trincadeira and Vinhão, for red grapes and Alvarinho, Antão Vaz, Arinto, Encruzado, Rabo de Ovelha, Roupeiro, Semillon, Verdelho and Viognier for white grapes. The vineyard is under the baton of master wine-maker Carlos Mira and advised by plant disease expert Yvon Bugaret, who conducts regular monitoring at the INRA weather station in Bordeaux. |
