The Serrano Mira family proudly owns and runs an estate deep in the heart of rural Portugal, stretching across 200 hectares of vines, divided into three plots: Vinha do Azinhal (90 ha), Vinha da Judia (55 ha) and Vinha das Servas (55 ha). All are between 15 and 55 years old, except for the Vinha das Servas vines, planted in January 2007.
The Herdade das Servas vineyards are carefully planted to Touriga Nacional, Syrah, Aragonês, Cabernet Sauvignon, Trincadeira, Alicante Bouschet, Petit Verdot, Vinhão and Merlot for the reds. Select patches of Roupeiro, Antão Vaz, Alvarinho, Semillon and Arinto are in turn used for the whites.
The vineyard is under the baton of master wine-maker Carlos Mira, heading a specialist team assisted by Nuno Quintãs and advised by plant disease expert Yvon Bugaret, who conducts regular monitoring at the INRA weather station in Bordeaux.
